The artist Eckard Mueller lives and works as a lecturer and painter in Munich. After training as a carpenter, he studied painting and composition from 1976 to 1980 with the US artist Prof. Smuel Shapiro and the lecturer and artist Heimrad Prem (SPUR group). His relationship with Prem came to a fateful end and became a decisive turning point in his career. He withdrew from artistic work and from then on worked for many years as a graphic designer and art director for international clients. At the end of the 1990s he returned to painting, received a teaching assignment at the Geras Academy of Art, founded his private art school “malzeichen” in Munich and began to present his artistic work with his first remarkable exhibitions. In the meantime, his works are represented in private collections throughout Europe and America.
